Founded
in 1990 Viking Transport Ltd has become one of the leading logistics
companies in the East Midlands with an enviable reputation for personal
service. Viking operates a fleet of 12 vehicles, small vans through to
38 tonne artics.Having,
over the past 5 years been approached by a number of Pallet Networks,
Viking became members and shareholders in Pallet-Track in August 2003
which was when the Pallet-Track network was launched. The first year of
Pallet-Track has proved an outstanding success, mainly due to the high
standards of service levels achieved throughout the UK network and the
fact that the Pallet-Track IT system is way ahead of the competition.
We are the only network that offers an on-line POD facility that
enables you to gain access to your proof of deliveries on your own IT
system. Viking
Transport can also offer Warehousing, General Haulage, Same day Courier
Service and are specialists in service and time sensitive deliveries.
We have built up an excellent reputation throughout the Logistics
industry for service, customer care and above all a strong emphasis on
after sales service.
We
would like to introduce to you Pallet-Track network of which Viking
Transport Ltd are a shareholder member. Members of Pallet-Track feel
that our network does things a little differently and we would briefly
like to explain why. It was always the objective of Pallet-Track and
members alike for the network to become a market leader not only in service but also innovation in out industry. Since
commencement of services in January 2004, the network has surpassed all
expectations in terms of quality of membership, administrative
practices, provision of service and generic growth through our now 50+
shareholder members. Location
is all important and being within 3miles of Junctions 9 & 10 of the
M6 our members not only enjoy a more central location but furthermore
this adds to an increased sort efficiency placing line-haul vehicles
back within good time to maximise efficient local delivery. From
a 75000 sq. ft Hub facility Pallet-Track members are able to offer an
unparalled level of service often only aspired to by our competitors.
Our operation presently handles in excess of 2000 pallets per night all
of which are electronically scanned and tracked. The
cornerstone of our administrative success is undoubtedly our IT system,
which was recently featured in Motor Transport. Being Web based it is
totally live and transparent system which negates the need for time
consuming faxing and archaic manual processes which all add to an
administrative burden for office staff. Each
Pallet-Track member can see tomorrow’s deliveries ‘today’ which further
enhances vehicle planning and forecasted routing. The delivering depot
scans all POD’s by 12:00 noon the day after delivery giving immediate
access to our customers through a fully interactive website. The
most important association we feel is when the member company has an
active interest in their network, that is why every member of
Pallet-Track has a shareholding which enables them to enjoy the
security of watching their investment grow safe in the knowledge that
they are respected as an integral part of the overall success.
