In 1957, James Macauley Snr set out with a two ton Morris truck with a dream that he could build a family business. After a time, he was joined by his sons Robert & James Jnr, to serve public works including earthmoving, demolition and the supply of construction materials from their own source. His dream to build a reputation for reliability and total capability is a philosophy still used by James Macauley Jnr to this day. For after the death of his father and brother in the mid seventies, James Jnr built upon the foundations laid by his family and extended responsibility to his wife and his daughters who are involved in the daily running of the business.
